I started the day at Challis Hot Springs. I ended the day at Kirkham Campground.

Here is a short description of the day:

Salmon River
Pretty drive out of the Challis Hot Springs valley to the town, where I had a really nice meal at new-ish place where they didn't really seem to know what they were doing - but the food and wifi and waitress were excellent! With the peak-ish fall colors the Salmon River valley to Stanley was picture perfect. The final 40 miles along the Salmon were very pretty but I'm ready for my campsite.

This late in the season all services are off, but the place is still open, and free, bless 'em.

Sadly however, it's an unusually warm Saturday, so it's pretty crowded. The weather was nice but I'm here for the pools. There was an annoying party scene on Saturday night, and the rocks around the pools were trashed with litter and broken glass beer bottles on Sunday morning. People are stupid assholes sometimes.
