Wow, it's been over a year since I've been here!

Since I'm an infrequent visitor now I opted for the $5 monthly fee rather than the $20 annual. They've also bumped the price again, so:

$5 month membershp

+$33 one night camping

-----

$38.

here I am again! Camping choices are limited this time of year because the ground is so boggy - it's very easy to get stuck if you stray off the beaten path. I nailed my second favorite spot anyway! Weather is perfect, but thanks to the standing water everywhere, the freshly-hatched mosquitoes are looking for blood!

My usual spot has two RVs on it, so I am forced back into the trees. It's pretty nice here! Better shade, still got a really nice panoramic view of the valley.

Again had Dos Hermanos on the way in. That place has good food. This is Burning Man week, but things seem pretty calm here.

Again with the usual spot! I really like my spot, so I am glad few others do. Since it is not muddy, I can maneuver better. I choose to park further back, along the picnic table. Not quite as level and a little more exposed to nighttime headlights, but being next to the table is nice.

Ate at Dos Hermanos on the way in. Pretty tasty and very filling.

Stayed on my usual spot, did not get stuck in the muck, although the muck did make walking around a pain. Lucked into a two days for one special, and I fortunately have the time to make use of it!

Very mild (50's) in the daytime, very cold (20's) at night. There was a big rain and wind storm last weekend. Lucky for my trip (but sad for the area) it wasn't 10 degrees colder, because it woulda been two feet of snow!

yep, this is definitely becoming a habit. This time I'm on Day One of a real road trip. The air is crisp and cool and the clouds are fluffy and I get my usual spot at the edge and I'm happy!

same excellent spot, no excellent moon this time, so the stars are excellently bright!

Pretty crowded - the weather is extra-nice, and there was a yoga-fest at Squaw Valley last weekend.

back two weeks later, had so much fun I wanted to do it again. Allergies are killing me, but other than that the weather and everything else is awfully nice.

back again, scored the primo camping spot looking out over the fields. Left Reno at 3, got here at 4. plan to leave tomorrow at 4, get home at 5. So it's a sweet little 26 hour getaway!

Harbin forgot to give me my membership card two weeks ago (there's always something!), so this sweet lady gave me a Sierra membership card good till that date. ... the user-friendly campground!

camping is just a field behind the lodge. very pretty at the edge of a huge valley. Nice lodge to hang out in, wifi and kitchen. Hotel in town. Also, breakfast place and Mexican restaurant in town, both pricy but good!
